Wedding Location
Wedding locations and how to decorate for
them
You may already have the perfect wedding
location in mind. Perhaps you want to be married in a museum with
the reception immediately following. But how on earth do you
decorate for such a stark wedding location?
Actually, a museum
would be one of the easiest wedding locations to decorate for.
Think of it as a clean slate. You wouldn’t have to tie into
anything, just your own imagination. Take these tips with you as
you decide on your wedding location and how you will decorate for
it.
Beach wedding
A beach wedding can be as formal or informal as
you like. You could have fun with this wedding location and forgo
the wedding dress for a sarong and leis. You could keep the theme
up by serving your drinks in coconut glasses or even by turning your
wedding into a luau. On the other hand, a formal wedding could find
its way onto a beach as well. You could set up rows of elegant
white folding chairs and decorate an alter facing the sunset for you
and your loved one to be married under.
However formal or informal you make your beach
wedding always keep in mind the weather you might encounter. Have a
backup plan for rain or wind. Consider renting a tent in case of in
climate weather. If having a backup plan is too much for you, find
a different wedding location indoors away from the elements.
Garden wedding
A garden wedding is perhaps one of the most
elegant wedding locations you could choose. A garden wedding is
open to many different themes and motifs. You could use many
different garden wedding decorations such as: Chinese wedding
decoration, country wedding decoration, Cinderella wedding
decoration, fairy tale wedding decoration or even renaissance
wedding decoration.
Because of the natural beauty of a garden, you
won’t have to spend as much money on more flowers and greenery to
decorate for your wedding reception. The garden will provide an
excellent backdrop for the festivities of your wedding. Garden
wedding decorations can be very simple because the natural beauty
will speak for itself.
Outdoor wedding
Outdoor wedding decorations in general can
range from elegant to funky. If you have a bland outdoor location,
be very specific in your wedding decorations. If you want to have a
Native American wedding, go the whole nine yards. Get wedding
decorations that really scream Native American. Find Native
American prints to wrap your favors in, and keep all of your
decorations in Native American colors. Really, outdoor wedding
decorations can be anything you like, just remember to keep a thread
running among them so they don’t get lost on your guests.
Church wedding
Wedding decorations for a church wedding can
really depend on the site. You may not want to incorporate your
entire theme into the church site so you don’t overwhelm the
location with too much fuss. This is especially important if the
church is very ornate. In the case of a very ornate wedding, go
ahead and save your Cinderella theme for the reception hall where
the guests will be more understanding of the mood you are trying to
create.
