Get Organized With A Summer Wedding Plan

Any wedding planner will tell you that the key to any wedding's success is organization. Successful planners think of everything...a year in advance. When you decide to plan your own wedding it can be exciting at first. However it is inevitable you will start to feel the stress and organization fears at some point during the planning.

For summer wedding items, we recommend Shindigz.com for large selection and low prices.  Whether you are planning a traditional wedding or a themed wedding, you will find a huge selection of decoration supplies, props and kits at great prices.  For more online merchants, please visit our buyers guide.

With this smart and easy summer wedding plan, you can skip the high cost of a professional planner and plan your own wedding without stress or anxiety. The summer wedding plan is intended for brides who are planning to get married in the summer season.

The Countdown

By splitting up what needs to be done in the months before your wedding day, you can accomplish a little each month instead of piling it all up to be done in one hectic week. Prioritizing your wedding needs and using a timeframe is the key to stress-free planning. This plan is set on a twelve month time period, however today's couples are staying engaged for a shorter period of time than couples of the past, so feel free to adapt the steps to your own personal time frame. Remember, even an elaborate wedding can be planned in a few days, you just don't have as much time to be picky.

Ten to Twelve Months Before

A summer bride should start planning her wedding at least by the autumn of the year before the wedding day. This allows enough time to make sure your favorite wedding professionals are available. The first task on a bride's list should be the location of the wedding. If a bride finds the perfect wedding location, she can set the date accordingly. However, if the couple sets the date before hand, they could end up changing it several times when they realize it does not coordinate with their chosen locations.

A summer bride usually considers an outdoor wedding at some point in planning. Consider consulting an almanac to try to predict what type of weather is normal for your wedding location on your wedding date.

Seven to Nine Months Before

After the location is chosen and your wedding date is in stone, you can begin consulting with wedding professionals. Caterers and florists usually require reservation at least four to six months before your wedding, however calling ahead and tentatively reserving your favorites may be smart. Wedding professionals might even mark you down permanently if you agree to schedule a formal consultation within the next month.

This is a great time to choose a wedding theme if you choose. Start thinking about wedding decorations as well, although you do not need to worry to much about them at this point. A good idea is to make a list of decoration ideas and be on the look out for decorative things you see while you are shopping for other items.

Five to Six Months Before

The dress is a big project to work on during this time. Many wedding dresses take about four months to order, so make sure you have chosen your dress before the fourth month begins. The same is true for the bridesmaids' dresses, so take them along on your shopping trips.

Your wedding decoration planning should come into view during this time as well. Start planning your wedding invitations. Be sure to reserve any rentals you may need and begin buying other decorative pieces. Keeping all of your items in one room or a few marked boxes is a great way to stay organized.

Two to Four Months Before

Men's attire never takes as long to order so this is an appropriate time to start getting them men fitted for their wedding attire.

You also need to finalize your invitations at the beginning of this period. This will allow you plenty of time to fix any mistakes the printers may make and more than enough time for addressing them.

This is also a great time to get your dress fitted and altered if necessary.

One Month Before

Your wedding is getting closer and now is the perfect time to send out your invitations to let guests know your wedding details.

Everything major should already be taken care of at this point in your planning so sit back, make a few last minute checks, and enjoy your month.

You will need to double check with your florist, caterer, musicians, and the location staff to make sure everything is set for your special day.

Also, make sure you get a final dress fitting this month in case your shape has changed. A hair appointment is also a good idea to plan how you will wear your hair on your wedding day.

Using this summer wedding plan you can organize a successful wedding without stress.  So, follow the steps provided and good luck in your planning!
