table decor. Brides can accomplish this in several different ways.
The easiest way to add lovely spring flowers to cake table decor is
to simply purchase potted flowers to set on the table.
To dress up the pot, consider wrapping it in tulle and securing it
with a ribbon. This will turn a pot that is appropriate for your
porch into wedding decor. Plants such as daffodils, crocus, and
tulips are wonderful for this decorative idea.
Another way to use flowers is to simply place their buds all around
the table. Using an abundance of spring flower buds will likely draw
attention to the cake. Silk flowers are best for this task, as they
will not wilt. Fresh buds do not last very long and can come off
looking less than fresh.
For a more dramatic idea, consider creating a food flower garden
around your cake. To accomplish this, first make short walls for
your cake table out of wood or plastic and attach them to each side
of the table. This will hold in your "dirt". To make the "dirt"
simply crush many chocolate cookies until they look like chunks of
dirt. You will need quite a few.
After crushing the cookies, pour your "dirt" on the table around
where your cake will be. Next, take candied flowers and place them
in the dirt to make them look like they were planted. This original
idea is not only season appropriate but also yummy.
Lining the edges of the table with flowered garland is another way
to decorate a wedding cake table. Remember to use flowers that are
typical of the season to get the right look. Adding strings of white
lights to the garland will make it stand out even more. Strings of
pearls or decorative ribbon are also great additions to flowered
garland.
Springtime wedding cake table decorations should be fun and colorful
just like the spring season. Brides should not be afraid to use bold
colors next to their wedding cake, as the bright colors will only
bring the focus onto the beautiful cake in which they surround.
