Homemade Wedding Favors
Easy Homemade Wedding Favors
Today's wedding couple often pays for their own wedding. Parents
of the couple use to be socially required to contribute, but with
people marrying older or marrying several times, this tradition is
declining. This new financial burden is provoking couples to look
inward for wedding decor ideas.
Luckily, wedding couples do have the option to make many of their
wedding decorations, which ultimately can save them hundreds of
dollars. Homemade wedding favors are a great way to lessen the
financial burden of a wedding. Homemade wedding favors not only save
money, but they also provide a lovely personal look to any
celebration.
Candy
Candy is the easiest way to put together wedding favors. Using small
chocolates, round pieces of tulle, and ribbon you can easily
assemble wedding favors in less than an hour. Simply place the
chocolates in the middle of the tulle circle, pull the edges upward,
and secure with a small piece of ribbon. These low-cost favors are a
timeless hit with guests and can be assembled very easily.
For a more personalized approach to candy, consider getting your
personal computer involved. First, print out a picture of the
wedding couple and the wedding details such as time and date onto a
colored piece of paper. Make sure the print out is only about an
inch tall and three inches wide. Next, cut out the print out leaving
about two or three inches above and below the printed space. Wrap
the paper around a full sized candy bar and use tape to secure it.
Trim any unnecessary paper and you are finished.
Candles
Candles are
wonderfully cheap to use for wedding favors or other wedding decor.
Wrapping single tea light candles and holders with tulle and
securing them with ribbon is another easy candle favor idea. To make
a more unusual favor, try housing the candle and its holder in an
oriental food box with wire handles. This automatically adds flair
to a normal looking wedding favor.
Photo Books
A very personalized wedding favor that can be made easily using your
computer and ribbon is the
photo booklet.
The photo booklet consists of photos you print from your own
computer. After printing pictures of you and your fiancé, you punch
holes in the sides and tie them together to form a small photo
booklet. Pictures from dates, vacations, or each of your childhood
are great to use for this project.
For an additional detail, consider adding a small page or two
detailing how you and your mate met or how your proposal went.
Everyone loves to tell their romantic stories and this allows your
guests to be filled in all at once. Everyone benefits with this
great idea.
Scrolls
Another easy favor idea is the wedding scroll. These scrolls can be
printed onto weathered looking paper or written out in calligraphy.
By simply rolling the scrolls and securing them with ribbon, you can
put these together extremely quickly.
Homemade wedding favors allow the wedding couple to save money and
be creative with their wedding decorations. Couples can make
homemade favors very personal or quite the opposite, depending on
their personal preferences. Using these favor ideas, couples can
make wedding favors cheaply and in very little time.
