Flower Wedding Decorations
Decorating a Wedding With Flowers
It is inevitable; all brides want an abundance of flowers at
their wedding. Not only do brides and their attendants carry flowers
down the aisle, but most use a ton of flower decorations for the
wedding as well.
Flowers have become an enormous part of today’s wedding.
Unfortunately flowers have also become a huge part of the wedding
budget. With these original flower wedding decoration ideas, you
will not only create interesting decorative pieces, but also save a
bundle.
Flower Wreaths
Wreaths are overused during the holidays and underused during the
rest of the year. Adding floral wreaths to your wedding decor is a
great way to add interest and originality to your special day. The
best part about these beautiful wreaths is that you and your friends
and family can make them yourselves.
To make a flower wreath, it is best to buy a pre-made wire wreath
frame. These can be purchased at most craft or garden stores. You
will also need several different types of silk flowers and greenery.
The size of the frame will determine how many you actually need.
Cut the flowers and greenery and begin stuffing the frame with them.
Keep playing around until you get the look you want. Using floral
wire, attach the pieces to the frame. A hot glue gun can also be
used. Fill the frame until it is completely full. The fuller the
frame, the better it will look. For a finishing touch, add ribbon or
beads to the wreath.
Scented Vases
Another do-it-yourself project involving flower wedding decoration
is the scented vase. You will need a vase, dried flowers, and a
small string of lights for this project. Take the vase and place the
string of lights into it, making sure they spread from top to
bottom. Next, take the dried flower petals and fill the vase.
The flowers should cover most of the lights. When you plug the
lights up, you have a beautiful flower wedding decoration. The
longer the lights are lit, the better the petals start to smell.
This decorative piece can be used almost anywhere in a wedding.
Hanging Pots
Sometimes brides tend to get too complicated with their decorating
plans, however simple decor often looks the best. For a quick floral
addition to any wedding, brides can use hanging pots. These can be
purchased at a garden center and often used as bought. To dress up a
pre-bought hanging pot, brides can wrap the pot in tulle and add a
ribbon. This is also a great idea for a
garden theme wedding.
Edible Flowers
Flowers can also add spice to your reception menu. Edible flowers
can be used to garnish and create original wedding decor. To add an
interesting detail, roses can be frozen in ice and used to float in
punch. Also, violets or carnations are great wedding cake
accessories that can be enjoyed by guests as well.
Using flower wedding decorations is a simply beautiful idea. By
making some of the floral decorations yourself, you can save on the
wedding budget as well. Creating wonderful and original flower
decorations for your wedding is also a lot of fun to do. So, start
brainstorming today for your wedding floral decor.
