Learning How To Decorate A Wedding Arch

The wedding arch is a great addition to any style of wedding. Brides are often confused with how to decorate the wedding arch however. Most arches come in white, black, or brass metal and can be used indoors or outdoors. Some are made of wood and lattice however and are most appropriately used outdoors. Using easy decorative accessories, brides can turn a plain metal wedding arch into a beautiful work of art.

Flowers are beautiful additions to a wedding arch. Brides will probably want to use silk flowers in order to allow the arch to look fresh longer. Brides can use individual silk flowers and attach them to the arch with wire, however this process can take hours to complete.

For faster results, brides can use garlands of flowers along with garlands of greenery. By weaving the garlands into the arch and attaching them with wire, the arch can be complete in no time. Arches should be covered completely in order to achieve the best look. A fuller arch is always more beautiful than a sparsely covered arch, so don’t be afraid to overdo it.

Balloons are also a fun way to dress up a plain arch. Using balloons full of air, not helium, is recommended. Brides can attach individual balloons to the arch using string or ribbon. The more balloons used, the better the outcome. Brides can use balloons of one color, or they can mix and match wedding colors. It is best to start at the top center of the arch and work your way down each side for this project.

Another decorative accent that can add life to an arch is metallic garland. Metallic garland can be used alone or in coordination with any other arch accessory to add flair. It comes in many different colors and styles. A popular wedding style is the metallic garland made of heart shapes.

For a 1980s look, brides can choose to cover the arch in plush hearts. Plush was a popular product of the 80’s, and can be used to add fun to wedding decor. By attaching the plush hearts with hot glue or wire, the arch will take on a soft and child-like look to it. This is a great idea for 80s theme weddings.

For an evening wedding, strings of lights work great on an arch. White lights look beautiful twinkling against greenery or garlands of flowers. Lights should not be used alone however. Brides can choose to use only a few light accents or an abundance of lights, depending on the look they are trying to achieve.

Ribbon is another accessory commonly used on the wedding arch. Thin ribbon can add beauty to an arch already decorated with flowers and greenery. Wide strips of wired ribbon however, can be used to cover an arch completely. By wrapping the arch with the ribbon it goes from being plain to being gorgeous.

Don’t be afraid to use a wedding arch in your wedding simply because you are unsure of how to decorate it. Decorating a wedding arch can be as simple as you allow it to be. Follow these ideas and you will be on your way to learning how to decorate a wedding arch.
