Church Hall Wedding Decoration
Taking The Hassle Out Of Church Hall Wedding Decoration
Decorating your church can be a breeze if you know ahead of time
what decorations are allowed. Check with the cleric or office
manager to find out which church hall wedding decoration themes
can be used on your special day.
You don’t want to be
disappointed if you’ve bought the decorations before you’ve
determined what is allowed. Once you know what types of
decorating can be done you can go ahead with the planning and
purchasing.
If you are getting married during the holiday season you are at
an advantage. Many churches this time of year are already filled
with poinsettias and carnations so half of your decorating may
already be done for you.
A unique church hall wedding decoration idea is to line the
walkway up to the entrance of the church with luminaries. These
can be simple to make and are available at most party stores.
The special bags with decorative cut outs are filled with sand
and a votive are placed in the center.
You can also decorate the outside church doors with evergreen
wreaths with bows that match your wedding theme. This may be
helpful for guests that are unfamiliar with the location of your
church.
The carpet leading up to the altar can be decorated as well.
Garlands make an excellent church hall wedding decoration and
these can lie on either side of the carpet and can also be
intertwined with mini white lights.
Make sure these types of decorations are anchored next to the
pews so that guests will not trip on them. These garlands may
also be used along side the front of the altar steps for a
beautiful church hall wedding decoration.
Candles are an
inexpensive church hall wedding decoration and can be used for
evening weddings. The entire service can be a candle lit one.
Candle lit weddings are perfect for
Victorian theme
weddings or Medieval
theme weddings. Candles can be given to each guest and they
can also be placed in all of the available candelabras at the
front of the church.
Some churches also use candelabras in the rear of the church.
The candelabras can also be decorated with greenery and sprays
of flowers for a beautiful church hall wedding decoration.
Another area that can be decorated with candles are the windows
of the church. Pillar candles can be placed in front of the
windows if the ledge is not slanted. Take into consideration the
time of your wedding when planning to use candles. They won’t be
very effective if there is a lot of light flooding into the
church in the early afternoon.
While there are not many places to decorate the church, the
placement of a few special decorations will add to the ambiance
of the wedding. Remember to look at the architectural style when
choosing your church, as this will add to the effect of the
wedding’s theme.
A renaissance wedding would be perfect if held
at a castle-like church whereas a beach wedding looks
appropriate at a small chapel by the water.
Finding the right church hall wedding decoration can be easy if
you remember to plan according to your theme, time of day and
follow the requirements of the church.
