Wedding Buffet Decoration
How to Set Up Wedding Buffet Decoration
No wedding is complete without the dinner/reception. You have
two choices - either have a sit down dinner or a buffet. A sit
down dinner only works if you have a small wedding party, plus
it is expensive. However, if you have a long list of guest, then
a buffet is what you should consider – it would be better
organized and of course way cheaper.
If you go in for a buffet style diner you don’t have to
compromise on your panache. Plan your wedding buffet decoration.
You can use the very basic things like table cloths and table
topper to your advantage. All you need to know is to play with
color and fabric and you will have the wedding buffet decoration
compliment fit for stars and royalty.
Chose the colors, which complement the rest of your theme.
Consider contrasting colors. Play with the lengths of the
different fabrics you are using. You can rent, make, or buy
wedding buffet decorations, whichever suit your occasion and
your budget.
A wedding buffet decoration tip - think about pleating the table
or just using it as skirt. Used solids and prints to create a
wonderful effect. Put a lace overlay to give a classic touch.
Top table cloths pinned up and trimmed with ribbons to create
swags.
As you lay out the buffet, if you prefer traditional wedding
buffet decorations you may want the flat layout. However, the
new trend in wedding buffet decoration according to the
decorating gurus is to “build up areas of different heights on
your buffet table.”
You can create an illusion by using different sizes of stands
under the serving vessels. High points add interest and elegance
to the table, as well as making a convenient spot to perch
rolls, condiments, or additional decorations. If you have
several salads, they can all be at slightly different heights!
Use fruits, vegetables, leaves, pumpkins, fresh flowers or silk,
or pieces of ivy scattered among the serving dishes as wedding
buffet decoration. Consider a table top of fountains or an ice
sculpture.
Use light to your advantage. Incorporate light into your wedding
buffet decoration. You can use candles or battery operated mini
lights. Don't forget floating candles or floating flowers in
bowls as it is also easy and attractive; you can use bowls of
different heights. Oil lamps may burn longer than candles.
Combine the candles with small mirrors placed under them or
gemstones or floral marbles scattered around them and you have a
flickering light from the reflection. Do you worry about where
you could get mini lights? May be you want to check your
Christmas decorations. They would perfectly fine as wedding
buffet decorations too.
How you place the food on the buffet table is important. The
first thing on the table should be a stack of plates, cutlery
and napkins too, unless those are already on the tables where
your quests will be eating.
Next place the buns and butter, salads, pickles, cold meats, hot
vegetables or entrees with the hot meat main course as the very
last item. The sequence should be salads, veggies, meats, and
then desserts. Desserts, coffee and tea can be on another table
if desired.
There are a variety of ways to actually arrange the tables. A
main consideration is 'traffic flow' so that people picking up
their meal and returning to their tables, don't have to cross
over into those that are just starting to serve themselves.
