Tulle Decorating Ideas
Easy Inexpensive Tulle Decorating Ideas
Tulle is one of the easiest materials to work with when
decorating a reception hall for a wedding. There are many tulle
decorating ideas since it is an inexpensive material and comes
in an array of beautiful colors. The material can be used for
backdrops such as archways, decorations on tables and as seat
back covers for your guests. This material is also easy to find
at large retail stores and at your favorite local craft store.
There are two tulle decorating ideas for seats at your
reception. The first is to tie approximately three yards of
tulle around the chair and tie it in a knot in the back of the
chair. Secure the knot in the tulle with a large safety pin.
Pull the tulle from the front of the seat over the back of the
seat so that it forms a cover for the top of the chair back.
Tuck this material behind the knot. Finish off the decoration
with a large silk flower tucked into the knot.
Make sure the stem of the faux flower is pointing down and not
into the back of the guest’s chair. Arrange the tulle so that it
drapes down the back of the chair and touches the floor but
doesn’t drag on it. The second idea is to use a shorter length
of tulle, approximately two yards. Tie it in a knot in the back
of the chair as before and fluff the tulle out so that it frames
the silk flower that you place in the center of the knot. You
can cut the tulle and round the corners so that it frames the
flower.
Tulle decorating ideas for archways can be used in two ways.
First the tulle can be hung behind the archway and decorated
with ivy, flowers or even seashells. The tulle can also be
gathered into a swag and used to frame an archway or across tops
of columns.
Tulle decorating ideas for party favors are many. Tulle fabric
circles are great for gathering up small gift items such as
soaps, seashells, coins, birdseed and lavender. They are also
easy to use when making your own sachets for favors. Tulle
fabric circles are also easy to use to wrap up votive candles
and their holders and decorate them with ribbon and pearl
sprays.
Floral designs can also use tulle material, especially for
bridesmaids. Tulle decorating ideas for floral designs include
using circles of tulle around the flowers, especially if the
bridesmaids are carrying tussie mussies. Tulle can also be used
with a bride’s bouquet to make long sprays of flowers stand out
against her dress.
Tulle decorating ideas for the reception hall include draping
the material from the ceiling for fairytale, garden, celestial
or princess weddings. The material can also be pooled in the
center of tables to enhance floral arrangements or other theme
decorations. Tulle can also be used to hold balloons close to
the ceiling before they are pulled on to release the balloons.
Other simple tulle decorating ideas include draping topiaries
with tulle to create an ethereal effect, wrapping Jordan almonds
and tying with ribbon for party favors, decorating gift bags,
decorating the bride and groom’s car, use instead of ribbon for
tying napkins and many more creative ideas that you can think
up. The sky is the limit when it comes to this very versatile
fabric.
