Make your job easy by using balloon decorations for your
wedding. You can give your wedding and reception a feeling of
elegance or whimsy by using balloons in key areas. They are also
great for drawing attention to your occasion and entertaining the
children. Using them on the dance floor, ceiling, entrances,
tables and archways will all add interest and excitement to your
wedding decorations.
The Dance Floor
One of the most romantic things I’ve ever seen at a wedding is a
couple taking their first dance among a field of iridescent
balloons. Having balloon bouquets at varying heights around the
dance floor makes the couples seem as if they are floating by on
air. It really gives your reception a fairy tale feeling,
especially if you use pearl balloon colors accented by silver or
gold.
Scatter them along the floor if you wish, but realize that it will
make for dangerous dancing and can be a bit much of a temptation
for small children. However, don’t let that stop you from doing a
balloon drop during your dance; just have a trusted friend ready
to collect them before inviting everyone onto the dance floor.
The Ceiling
One great way to mask a not so great ceiling in a reception hall
is to cover it with helium balloons. Of course you will want to
make sure that you aren’t using the light fixtures (heat from
lights and balloons don’t mix) and that you can get them down at
the end of the night. You could choose to use balloon decorations
for your wedding reception to decorate just a small area of
ceiling such as over the dance floor. This can make it a more
special part of the room and add color without adding too much
cost.
Entrances and Tables
Mark the way to your wedding with balloons and signs. Place
balloon bouquets instead of flowers by the entrances and on
special tables like the cake table, gift table and guest book
table. Use balloons with numbers on them to make finding the
tables easy at the reception. The advantage of balloon decorations
for your wedding entrances and tables is that it is an inexpensive
way to add color and style to your wedding.
Archways
Balloon archways are an easy way to make your balloon decorations
for your wedding have a fairy tale feel. If you want to get
married under an arch of pearl balloons the experience can make
you feel like a fairy tale princess and provide a great frame for
pictures. Alternately you could put the archway at the beginning
of the aisle which is another great place for your photographer to
get great shots of you and your wedding party as they start down
the aisle.
A balloon arch at your reception can also be a wonderful way for
you to make an entrance as well as a great place to take
photographs with your guests later in the evening. Make the
archway near the dance floor and have your dollar dance under the
colorful display. Balloon arches can be done professionally or
have a skilled friend try his or her hand at making one.
Balloons decorations for a wedding are an excellent way to play
with color and set the tone for your special wedding event. Accent
the reception area with balloons to draw attention to special
areas like the cake table or a display of photographs.
For your small guests consider having a clown entertain the
children with balloon animals for an hour or two. Perhaps even
send the children home with some of the balloons as a special
favor. Using balloons can be fun and easy way to add flair to your
wedding decor.
