Floral Wedding Decoration
Floral Wedding Designs on a Dime
Floral wedding decoration is generally a big player in both the wedding ceremony
and reception. Decorative flowers adorn church pews, gazebo arches
and are showcased in the bride and her bridal party bouquets.
Their natural beauty and aroma add to the overall ambiance.
However, as any bride-to-be may quickly realize in their planning,
floral arrangements require a budget all their own.
The price for an average bridesmaid bouquet of roses can range
anywhere between $60 – 100. And that’s just for the bridal party.
Bridal bouquets are known to can cost upward of $200 hundred
dollars!!
With all this said, what’s a bride to do?
Here are a few tips to consider when using floral wedding
decorations.
Firstly, the type of wedding planned does affect how elaborate a
floral display is needed.
Outdoor weddings offer a great opportunity to save on additional
flowers. For flower enthusiast, choosing a garden or arboretum as
the wedding site will provide seasonal blooms for your pictures
without any additional cost.
Winter weddings offer pure white snow
and fresh green pines. Warm sand and bright blue surf are pleasant
natural alternatives for beach weddings.
The right location help avoid expensive outdoor wedding
decorations.
Also, tulle can replace ornamental flowers, as decorative indoor
window valances, church or gazebo accents.
Wedding flower budgets can be difficult to manage. Each additional
ivy vine or additional centerpiece rose become expenses that add
up quickly.
Look to creative alternatives. Bridal bouquets have customarily
included roses or lilies, two beautiful flowers with a larger cost
than some of its equally stunning siblings.
Wildflowers are a wonderful alternative, especially for Fall
weddings. The yellows, oranges and reds colors offered by
sunflowers and autumn leaves are dazzling.
Often brides on a budget forget that less definitely can be more.
One simple flower can create a stunning wedding display. A clutch
bouquet of daisies is a pure, clean look that will compliment any
Spring bride.
Wedding guests often marvel over wedding table centerpieces, which
are typically a replica of the bridal party flowers. In fact, some
guests take their table arrangements home. Like the bridal
bouquets, look for flowers that typically cost less, but offer an
elegant decor. Daisies, carnations, daffodils with baby’s breathe
accent are classics.
However, wedding table centerpieces are not
required to be floral in design. Candles are just one of many
other less expensive, romantic styles. Also, Catering halls
sometimes offer complimentary or discounted centerpieces as part
of the total wedding cost. (Also see

Florists are generally negotiable on wedding orders, since they
are aware of the volume of flowers that are typically used as
wedding decorations. Ask friends and family if they know a good
florist. While hiring a trained professional is always
recommended, if there’s someone you trust with a flair for floral
arrangement, you may want to consider buying flowers in bulk from
a grower and having them tackle the challenge.
It’s important to know your floral wedding decoration budget; be creative and shop around.
This way you’ll have more than a pocket full of posies.
