Bring Out Your True Romantic With A Valentine Theme Wedding
It's one of the most romantic days of the year – when
sweethearts exchange gifts and cards, have intimate dinners
together and profess their love to one another... it's Valentine's
Day! If you're a true romantic at heart who looks forward to
February 14 each year, then you may want to think about having a
Valentine wedding theme.

The concept of a Valentine wedding theme is all about true love.
Traditionally, Valentine's Day brings with it loads of flowers,
candy and romantic cards that couples give to each other to
celebrate their commitment and love to one another. Your Valentine
theme
wedding can have the same idea!
Decorating For Your Valentine Theme Wedding
The traditional colors of Valentine's Day are pink, red and white.
To have a true Valentine wedding theme, experiment with these
colors to see which combination works best, as it relates to your
tastes.
Since invitations are the first item that people normally see when
a couple announces their wedding, creating Valentine-themed
wedding invites are the perfect way to set the tone for the rest
of the Valentine's Day wedding theme.
Create miniature Valentine's Day cards and use them as
invitations. Fill them with heart-shaped confetti and insert small
candy hearts in each envelope. Create the invitations out of pink,
red and white paper, perhaps in the shape of a heart or a cupid.
Once your guests receive the invitations to your special day,
they'll know they're in for a romantic night!
Decorate the reception area with red, pink and white flowers. Try
mixing white, pink and red roses together to get the full
Valentine's Day effect, since roses are very typical on
Valentine's Day.
You may also consider using balloons as decorations. Balloons can
be a cheaper alternative to flowers and the combination of both
(flowers and balloons) can add some festivity to your Valentine
wedding theme. Try obtaining lip-shaped balloons in bright red and
pink, and then intertwine them with regular white balloons as
accents.
For centerpieces, place white cupid dolls in the middle of each
table and scatter chocolate hearts around the tables (try Dove
miniatures in dark chocolate, which are wrapped in pink and silver
foil and have a very nice look to them). Be sure to fill tables
with flowers and scented candles to give the dinner area nice
lighting and a romantic ambiance.
Food and Drink
There is really no traditional Valentine's Day food, which is
great, since this means you can be really creative!
Serve dinner and appetizers on heart shaped plates in pink and
red. Provide guests with champagne in heart goblets or pink and
red champagne flutes. For dessert – before the wedding cake –
serve chocolate mousse or tiny molten chocolate cakes in
heart-shaped molds. Insert tiny flowers or candy hearts around or
on top of the dessert to get the full Valentine wedding theme
effect.
Design your wedding cake in pinks and golds (red can look a bit
strange on a wedding cake, unless used sparingly), and have tiny
white roses made of icing surrounding the perimeter of the cake.
A Valentine wedding theme should be all about romance and love.
Therefore, create an atmosphere that will give off this vibe for
you and your sweetheart as well as the guests who are sharing your
celebratory day with you.
