There are many ways to plan an
Italian theme wedding. Read the following article for advice and
tips on how you can plan the perfect Italian theme wedding for you
and your guests!
To start your guests thinking about your Italian theme wedding,
you'll need to make eye-catching, creative, Italian-inspired
invitations. You want to make your Italian wedding theme known to
your guests, so they can share in the enchantment and fun that the
theme will bring. Therefore, design your invitations with Italy in
mind.
Create invitations that are imprinted with beautiful landscapes of
the Italian countryside in Tuscany, or the rugged cliffs and
immaculate ocean views of the Amalfi coast. You may want to also
consider writing some of the invitation in Italian, to let guests
know what your theme is and get them excited about what's in store
for them.
Decorating is also a key component of an Italian theme wedding.
Try to plan your wedding ceremony and/or reception in an old
winery, or somewhere with a beautiful ocean view. Both will be
reminiscent of Italy and make your guests feel like they have been
transported to a remote area of Italy for your wedding.
Another very important aspect of your Italian theme wedding
should, of course, be the food. Italians love to eat, and
therefore, make sure you have a wide variety of food and plenty of
it!
Begin your reception with a caprese salad, consisting of fresh
mozerella cheese and sweet tomatoes, topped with basil and olive
oil. Procuitto wrapped melon is also an Italian favorite and it's
sure to be a crowd pleaser at your wedding.
For the main course, you can choose from many options. If you
prefer meat, then osso bucco (veal) is a good choice. However, for
the more selective guests, you could make the menu simple and
serve chicken picatta or chicken marsala – both are relatively
simple and are sure to be well liked by the majority of your
guests.
Additionally, no Italian dinner is complete without pasta! Pasta
is relatively inexpensive, and therefore, it may be possible for
you to serve a few pasta dishes, both as side dishes and/or for
your vegetarian guests. Some good choices include: baked ziti,
manicotti and angel hair pasta with tomatoes and olive oil.
Additionally, if you intend to serve alcohol at your Italian theme
wedding, choose Italian red and white wine, from different regions
of Italy. This will provide variety as well as introduce your
guests to new types of wine. Limoncello is also a traditional
Italian drink that you can also serve with or after dinner. It's
strong, so it's best served in small amounts! And lastly, no
Italian dinner is complete without espresso – serve single
espresso shots to guests after dinner and before cake and maintain
the Italian tradition.
Music will also help make your Italian theme wedding perfect.
Choose Italian inspired opera music during dinner – you may also
want to consider bringing in an Italian band. For the
reception/party portion of the evening, spice up your dance floor
with Italian pop or rock music. This will be a unique addition to
your wedding, since most wedding DJs are fairly unoriginal when it
comes to the music they play for dancing.
The combination of the music, the food and of course, the scenery,
your Italian theme wedding is sure to be a hit with friends and
family!
