How To Decorate For A Party: Planning The Perfect Wedding Shower
A wedding shower is the first occasion where friends and family
are able to experience the fun and excitement of an upcoming
marriage. If you have a relative or a close friend who is the
bride-to-be, take note of the ideas below and learn how to
decorate for a party she will never forget!
Choosing a theme for the wedding shower will alleviate some of the
stress involved with how to decorate for a party. Many wedding
showers pick a theme and invite all of the guests to participate
in the theme so that they feel as though they're really involved
in the party.
Some popular wedding shower themes include: lingerie showers, wine
showers and “around the clock” showers. Guests will know about the
theme from the invitation and will then purchase gifts for the
bride according to the theme (for example, nighties or any type of
lingerie for the lingerie party and different types of wine or
related gifts, such as nice glasses, books on wine, etc. for the
wine party).
“Around the clock” showers assign each guest with a different time
of day (from the early morning until late at night) and they have
to bring a gift that the bride-to-be can use at that time (for
example, someone may bring a bathrobe and scented shower gels or
lotions if they have 7:00 a.m. , since that is likely to be the
time that the bride-to-be gets up in the morning for her shower).
Picking a theme can make decorating for a party much simpler and
it's a lot of fun for the guest of honor as well as the rest of
those who attend the party!
Decorating the home for the wedding shower does not have to be
extravagant. Since you are decorating for the party and not the
actual wedding, forget bringing in expensive floral bouquets,
table centerpieces or catered food.
Instead, purchase some nice flowers from your local flower shop
and mix and match bouquets on a few tables dispersed throughout
the home. Additionally, no wedding shower is complete without
loads of food, and food is another way to add to the decorations
of your party.
Get together with some of the other guests and prepare all of the
food for the party yourselves! Be creative and add tiny accents to
all of the food dishes, including tiny paper umbrellas, small
flowers or confetti (depending on the theme of the shower). Serve
fruity drinks or champagne in funky shaped glasses to add some
color and vibrancy to the room.
In order to decorate for the party more economically, get two or
three guests together and assign one part of the party to each
(for example, one could bring the drinks, one could prepare a main
dish and one could help buy the decorations). Buy store-bought
desserts to save money and time for everyone who is working on
organizing the party.
In order to decorate for a party the bride-to-be will always
remember, bring in some photos of her and her soon to be husband
throughout the years. Stick old photographs of the happy couple in
flower pots and have tiny pictures sticking out of desserts so
that everyone can see them. This is a great decoration that will
be truly personal for the bride and one that the guests will enjoy
too!
Decorating for a wedding shower party can be a fun way to show the
bride-to-be that you're excited about participating in her special
day. Now that you how to decorate for a party, make it fun and get creative!
