Use Wedding Shower Decorations To Create A Shower To Remember
If you're hosting a wedding shower for a special friend, you
want the wedding shower decorations to help create a memorable
background for the day. You can use traditional themes for the
wedding shower, or create a theme of your own and key the wedding
shower decorations to the theme. Here are some decorating
suggestions that you can use in any setting.
You'll find many traditional wedding shower decorations at party
supply shops. Some favorite ideas to include are a decorated
wishing well for gifts and lace parasols filled with confetti to
be released over the bride-to-be.
For quick decorating and a festive air, buy several bunches of
balloons in the bride's wedding colors. Use curling ribbon for
strings, and curl the ends to different lengths, and weight some
with lightweight angels made of silk or other fabric. If you blow
them up yourself, drop a pinch of confetti or glitter into each
balloon before inflating them.
Just before the bride arrives at the shower site, release the
balloons around the room to hover at different heights, blessing
the bride with hovering angels. When balloons pop, as some
invariably will, they'll shower the room with angel dust for extra
wishes.
Floral centerpieces are always a pretty decorating touch. For a
wedding shower, use inexpensive baskets in pastel colors that
complement the table linens and room decor. Fill the basket with
spring flowers and let them overflow the edges. Sprinkle loose
daisy and rose petals over the tabletop to add a touch of romance
to the setting.
For a different, striking centerpiece, choose crystal wine goblets
in three heights, and arrange them on a round mirror. Fill each
goblet halfway with jewel-bright marbles. Arrange a string of faux
pearls casually on the mirrored surface at the feet of the
goblets, and add a single rosebud, laid across the mirror. For
security, use colorless rubber cement to hold the goblets and
pearls in place.
If you've chosen a themed wedding shower, keep the decorations in
theme. For a kitchen shower, create centerpieces from inexpensive
kitchen accessory sets that include a container. Wrap each in a
colorful kitchen towel, and secure with a ribbon. Create wedding
favors from wooden spatulas hand painted with delicate flowers and
wrapped with ribbon to hang on the wall.
For a bride-to-be who dreams of fairy tale weddings, create a
whimsical fairy tale theme with Cinderella coach centerpieces and
Lisa Frank style unicorns and fairies. Keep the theme going by
creating party favors with little pouches stenciled with Lisa
Frank designs. Tuck candy mints or wrapped chocolates inside and
tie with a bow of curling ribbon in rainbow bright colors.
For something different, host a wine-tasting wedding shower. Have
each guest bring a bottle of their favorite wine, and decorate
with wine glasses and Chianti bottles. Wine bottle charms make the
perfect shower favor for a wine-themed wedding shower - especially
if you can find some that fit with the bride's wedding theme.
