Five Tips To Perfect Tropical Wedding Decorations
Ah yes, you’re dreaming about tropical wedding decoration. You
know that you want your wedding decor to include sun, sand and
surf…but wait a minute. If you don’t plan ahead, what you’ll get
instead is a tropical wedding filled with a ruined dress, shoes
that don’t walk well on the beach, and a wedding kiss flavored
with sand!
Take it from us; planning your tropical wedding decor
takes a lot of advanced planning. But it doesn’t need to be too
difficult! Just follow the suggestions below and have a perfect
beach wedding!
Your Dress
The last thing that you need is a dress that makes you sweat and
be uncomfortable on your special day. Purchase the right dress by
looking for lightweight fabrics, such as Chiffon, and don’t weigh
it down with loads of beads. An off-the-shoulder dress is perfect
for an island wedding, as is a spaghetti strap gown.
You’ll need
to think about your veil as well. If you opted for a long flowing
veil, the wind would likely beat it around your face during the
entire ceremony! Instead, use a tiara ladled with crystals or
flowers. Finally, don’t forget that your shoes will play an
important role in your tropical wedding. Avoid high heels that
will stick in the sand when you try and walk.
Your Invitations
Your tropical wedding invitations should set the tone of your
wedding. You can use your imagination and think of the best way to
get across your wishes to your guests. For example, you could send
your invitations as a message in a bottle, or use pretty beach
related paper, or even include some sea shells in the invitation
envelope.
Your Decorations
What better way to create your beach decor than to spend the day
with your family and friends combing the beach for trinkets and
shells to adorn your wedding tables? Plan an afternoon walk on the
beach picking up special shells, sea glass and rocks and then use
them to decorate your wedding tables.
In addition, you can create (or buy) sea shell candles out of the
larger ones to put on every table. Include a bottle of clear,
sparkling water at every seat for the ultimate in tropical decor.
Your Cake
To tie in nicely with your beach decor, you’ll want to let your
personality shine through with your wedding cake. Try and be as
whimsical as you can, and play it up! Use seashells and other
items from the beach to decorate it, and select just the right
topper to carry through the theme on the cake.
One problem that
many brides face when decorating for their wedding on the beach is
preventing sand from mixing in with the cake. You can prevent this
from happening by wrapping the entire cake with colorful or clear
cellophane and topping it with a huge ribbon—adorned with what
else? Seashells!
Planning for your tropical wedding decoration should be a fun and
memorable experience. Remember to just relax and have fun with it!
