Send Home The Magic With Just The Right Wedding Favors
Wedding favors are a customary way of thanking your wedding
guests for joining you to celebrate your love and marriage. If
you've planned your wedding based on a meaningful theme, the
wedding favors you choose for your guests can be a reminder of the
special meanings you built into your wedding day. You can find
wedding theme favors to suit any wedding from a formal traditional
service to a casual backyard barbecue with a flowered arch.
You can draw unique wedding favor ideas from the theme of your
wedding, or use your wedding theme colors or flowers as accents in
wrapping and presenting them. Most commonly, brides choose a
knick-knack of some sort that can be displayed or used in the
homes of their guests after the wedding.
Salt and pepper shakers, keychains, pretty ceramic or metal boxes
and picture frames are some of the most commonly chosen wedding
favors. If you're looking for something different, though, you can
shop the dollar and discount stores near you for pretty and
different items that aren't marketed as wedding favors.
Buying from a non-wedding supplier, and buying in bulk can often
save you money. On the other hand, you'll spend time you may not
have putting them together into attractive presentations if you
choose to make your wedding favors yourself. Whether you choose a
wedding supply house or do-it-yourself, here's a handful of
wedding favor ideas for some of the most popular theme weddings.
For a Country
Western style wedding, wrap Jordan almonds in gingham or
flower-sprigged quilting squares and gather with ribbons in
wedding party colors. Tuck the bundle into a sterling Stetson hat
or a single ceramic cowboy boot. Tuck a little sprig of
lily-of-the-valley into the bow knot for a pretty, feminine touch.
Conch shells make a lovely table decoration for a
Caribbean themed wedding.
The pale ivory and pearly pink interiors are the perfect accent
against a sea-blue tablecloth. Instead of the more traditional
Jordan almonds, wrap speckled candy-coated chocolate eggs in
rounds of tulle and tuck into the lip of the shell. Add a ribbon
personalized with the name of the bride and groom and the date of
their wedding.
A traditional flower lei is the perfect wedding favor for a
wedding with a Hawaiian
theme. Choose plumeria in the wedding colors and make them
part of the centerpiece by wrapping each loosely around a branch
of a silver-flocked tree. Other Hawaiian themed wedding favors
might include chocolate macadamia nuts instead of the more usual
Jordan almonds or dinner mints.
If you've planned a fairy
tale wedding, why not send some of the magic home with your
guests? Pewter figurines of dragons, castles and fairies are
popular gifts for wedding guests. Present them on a mirror etched
with the name of the bride and groom and the date of the wedding
for a memorable keepsake of a special day.
