Host A Garden Theme Wedding Party!

Spring is here, and what better way to celebrate than with a garden theme wedding party! Of course, one of the first things people think about when spring arrives is flowers, so if you truly want to celebrate your wedding day with a garden theme, be ready to splurge on tons of them. Here are a few ideas for your wedding decor.

First comes the invitations, and yours should prepare your guests for a spring wedding that they will never forget. You should either have custom invitations made in the shapes of birds, nests, gardening cans or flowers—all in soft colors and smooth rounded writing. Get the recipients attention by using pastel colored envelopes to mail them in.

Your wedding location will have to be perfect. Ideally, an outdoor locale would be suited, filled with flowers and soft green grass. If you don’t want to host an outdoor wedding, then you’ll have to move the outdoors inside. Choose a hall that you will be able to decorate with tons of fresh blooms and garden effects.

A wedding gazebo would be ideal for either an outdoor or an indoor wedding. Use one painted white for a perfect garden themed wedding, and then intertwine fresh flowers and lush green vines throughout it. Add silk birds or butterflies for a dazzling effect that will delight your guests.

For your wedding decor table centerpieces, you should use either crisp white linen tablecloths with pastel squares in varying colors, or you could opt for a checked theme. For the centerpiece, you can get original and use things like watering cans or specially created bird nests. For a more traditional look, use fresh cut flowers either in a vase or basket.

Your dress is an important aspect of a garden theme wedding party. You can either dress in traditional white, or if you prefer, a soft pastel. You can choose to wear a shorter length dress, or go full-out with a long off-the-shoulder gown—either one is just right. Your hair should be swept up in a casual do, adorned with flowers. You groom can wear a linen suit complimented by a soft pastel shirt.

Your food should be on the lighter side, and satisfy the thirst of your guests. Serve freshly squeezed lemonade and citrus juices, along side a table filled with spring-flavored dishes. Think pastels and creams. For desert, fill a small clay flower pot with sherbet, sprinkle Oreo cookie crumbs on tip, insert a short straw, and place a fresh flower stem inside the straw.

When it’s time to leave, pass out flower buds to your guests to throw instead of rice.

Finally, have a pastel limousine waiting for you, and then throw your bride’s springtime bouquet just before stepping in.
