Fairy Tale Wedding Theme
The Absolute Perfect Fairy Tale Wedding
Do you dream of a wedding day to rival the old fairy tales you
used to hear as a child? You remember—Cinderella being swept away
by her prince? Snow White being rescued by her handsome prince by
a single kiss? If you dream of being a princess for a day, then
why not have a fairy tale wedding?
Start by looking for a romantic locale. Look for an old mansion, a
hall that has a balcony overlooking a beautiful garden, or even an
outdoor location that is surrounded by fragrant flowers. Decorate
it with soft pastels, plenty of
tulle, silk ribbons and
organza.
You should have a few tresses intertwined with soft flowers and
silk ribbons, even if you are holding your wedding party indoors.
Announce your fairy tale wedding party by placing the invitations
on white parchment paper, rolling it up like a scroll, and then
sealing it with old fashioned wax. For the local invitations, have
them hand-delivered by someone in a tux who bows when he hands
them to the recipient.
You can get creative with your table centerpieces by using
carriages, glass castles, or silver vases filled with soft rose
petals, or buds. Sprinkle confetti across the tables, either in
sparkly silver or soft pastels. Drape each chair in soft organza
and silk ribbons.
For your food, you should ask your caterer to prepare fantasy
foods. Rich creamy sauces, prettily prepared veggies and unique
breads. Have a huge ice sculpture in the middle of the table
shaped like a castle. Your wedding cake should be white and
covered in soft pink rose buds and a crystallized sugary coating.
Your dress should make you look like a princess. Wear a huge ball
gown adorned with sparkly glitter. Sweep your hair up, and
intertwine it with pearls or soft pale ribbons. If you want to
wear something a little more subtle, consider a Juliet type dress
with ribbons criss-crossing front and back, and ballerina shoes.
Your bridesmaids should be dressed in flowing pastel colored
fabric dresses. Your groom should be a classic prince in a formal
tuxedo.
Finally, no fairy tale wedding theme would be complete with a
spectacular exit in a horse drawn carriage. Decorate the carriage
and horses with the same soft pastel flowers and silk ribbons that
you used in your wedding decorations. And whatever you do, don’t
let a well-meaning guest tie tin cans to your carriage!
