Use Colors As Your Wedding Theme!
You may not think of it that way, but the colors that you choose
for your bridal party are one of the simplest wedding themes.
Rather than creating an elaborate scheme, many brides choose to
plan their wedding decorations around the colors of their
bridesmaid’s dresses. A wedding theme based on color can be one of
the easiest and most elegant ways to create a unified and stylish
look for your wedding.
Simple doesn't mean boring, though. You can use color in
unexpected ways to accent the table decorations, the wedding cake,
the hall decor and even the wedding favors. You can choose colors
that suit the season in which you're getting married, or - if
you're daring - evoke the opposite with winter wedding colors in
midsummer, or springtime flowers in the dead of winter.

A Black and White
wedding color scheme can be dramatic and stylish, a striking

dinner plates, and centerpiece arrangements of pure white flowers
in black ceramic vases. The overall effect is sleek and chic.
For a spring wedding,
pastel shades of blue, green, lavender and pink can set a
romantic, airy mood. For flowers with a difference, choose white
and lavender lilacs for your bouquet and table centerpieces. The

tropical flowers and hues drawn from the azure sky and rain-soaked
forests. Choose the colors of sky and sand as a backdrop for a
summer island style wedding with azure table linens and a neutral
off-white accent color.
Add drama to the tables with centerpieces featuring birds of
paradise, or purple anthurium. For a unique, unusual wedding
favor, give each guest a living tillandsia plant tucked into a
large conch shell - the plants grow without soil and the symbolism
of sharing a living plant with all your friends on your wedding
day is a beautiful statement.
A winter wedding
needn't restrict your wedding theme colors at all. In fact, the
colder months are perfect for sumptuous fabrics in jewel toned
colors. Choose garnet or ruby instead of Christmas red, for
instance, or shimmering amethyst accented with deep turquoise.
Reflect the winter color theme with velvet ribbons in flower
arrangements of crimson and creamy white roses. Sprigs of holly
and mistletoe can brighten white table settings, and add the
meaning of 'enduring love' to the flower theme.
Choose rich earthy colors for an autumn wedding.
Fall wedding theme
colors can include deep golds and bright yellows, bittersweet
orange and deep aubergine. If you're daring, fill woven
cornucopias with a tumble of fall flowers - the crisp flame orange
of marigolds and rich gold of chrysanthemums will make a
delightfully sunny centerpiece.
