Create Bountiful Centerpieces For Your Autumn Wedding Reception

Take advantage of the bounty of the season to decorate the tables at your Autumn wedding reception. You can take ideas from autumn holidays, fall colors, seasonal flowers or just about anything else. To get you started, here are five autumn wedding reception centerpiece ideas.

Pumpkins and Leaves

For each table you will need:
Burgundy runner
Fall leaves (fresh, silk or preserved)
One large pumpkin
Two sterling or crystal candle holders
Ivy vine (silk or fresh)

Place a runner in the center of the table. Then place the pumpkin at its center, with the two candlesticks (with candles of course!) on either side. Arrange autumn leaves around the base of the pumpkin. Twine the ivy vine over the top of the pumpkin and let it creep out toward the edge of the runner.

Basket of Mums

For each table you will need:
6-8 inch diameter basket
Spray paint in wedding color
White tulle ribbon
Silk tulle ribbon in contrasting color (or same color as basket)
6-8 inch pot of white or yellow mums

You should choose small round baskets that are just large enough to hold a 6-8 inch pot of mums. Spray paint them in one of the wedding colors and let dry. Then, gather up a twelve inch wide swath of white tulle ribbon and tie it around the basket about an inch from the top. Hold it in place with a few drops of hot glue. Next, tie a full, puffy ribbon bow in the contrasting color and glue it in place over the knot of white tulle. Place the pot of mums in the basket and set it in the center of table.

Roses Aplenty

For each table you will need:
1 Cornucopia basket
Tulle in wedding colors
Baby's breath, ferns and greens
1 dozen roses in complementary colors
Floral foam

Start by cutting the floral foam in a shape that will fit into the cornucopias. Next, arrange the roses in a cascade from the cornucopia. Fill it in with baby's breath, fern and greens. Then, decorate the basket with tulle puffs and bows.

Pinecones and Autumn Leaves

For each table you will need:
6 pinecones in varying sizes
6 wooden floral picks
1 cache pot
1 potted mum
Glue
Glitter

First, you will need to Pour a puddle of glue onto a plate or newspaper. Roll the pinecone in glue, and then sprinkle them with glitter. When dry, use the wire to attach each pine cone to a wooden floral pick. Working carefully, arrange the pinecones in the pot with mums and place the arrangement in a cache pot.

Glass and Fruit

For each table you will need:
Glass bowl
Assorted, colorful autumn fruits (pears, apples, limes)
Oak and maple leaves
Clear glass marbles

Start with a two inch layer of glass marbles in the bottom of the bowl. Arrange the fruit around the sides of the bowl, and add more glass marbles to the center, allowing them to fill in between the fruits until they're covered. Add another layer of fruit around the circumference of the bowl and then fill it with glass marbles. Tuck brightly colored autumn leaves in around the edges or decorate with ripe crab apple sprays.
