Have A Divine Angel Themed Wedding
Do you believe in angels? Why not invite angelic blessings on
your new married life with an angel theme wedding? Over the past
several years, angels and cherubs have become especially popular
with brides who want their marriages to be touched by an angel. An
angel wedding theme can be simple and elegant or border on the
whimsical, depending on the decorations that you choose.
For an elegant angel wedding theme, start with the invitations.
Pure white invitations with engraved gold lettering set the tone
right from the beginning. Choose a white on white pattern
featuring Renaissance style angels or cherubs. If you prefer a
more whimsical style, look for Precious Moments style angels, with
their huge, waiflike eyes and less formal feel.
Dress the part. A pure white gown in a simple Grecian style or
elaborate Renaissance princess design will make you look like an
angel on your wedding day. Keep the veil simple - a wreath of
white flowers with a trailing tulle bow will be reminiscent of
angel wings.
Carry on the angelic theme with the reception hall decorations.
Snowy white table linens are the natural choice, but don't
overlook pale blue or navy. Sprinkle tablecloths with tiny silver
and gold stars, or accent with loose coils of silver and gold
ribbons.
Use a Christmas tree-topper angel as the focal point of your table
centerpieces. Start with a ten inch round mirror. Top the mirror
with a wreath of white and baby pink rosebuds, and arrange a trio
of frosted glass votive candles just inside the wreath. Place the
treetop angel in the center of the candles. You can add a
finishing touch to the guest tables with purchased cherub place
card holders in silver or gold finish.
The head table deserves special treatment, of course. For a
dramatic statement, use large angel silhouette cutouts on the wall
behind the table to frame the bride's and groom's chairs at the
center.
Twine strings of twinkling mini-lights in pure white through swags
of greenery to edge the front of the table and dangle angel
ornaments from the garlands at regular intervals.
You can trim the cake table in the same way or use a cutwork paper
angel garland and more mini-rosebuds. You can fit the cake to the
theme with a sculpted angel cake topper instead of the traditional
bride and groom - or choose one that has the bride and groom, with
an angel standing over them.
Continue the angel theme with the wedding favors you choose. You
can find a wide assortment of porcelain or crystal angel
statuettes at any party warehouse. For a baroque touch, purchase
little porcelain jewel boxes painted with angels or cherubs.
Wrap half a dozen white Jordan almonds in gold and white tulle
circles gathered with gold curling ribbon. Tuck the wrapped
candies into the jewel boxes, and leave the lid ajar, holding it
in place with ribbons. Other ideas for favors to complement an
angel wedding theme molded angel picture frames, crystal cherub
candle holders or candles with an angel theme.
